Step-by-step help with ChatGPT

Copy the GuestGate guide with your question, then open ChatGPT and paste it into a new chat.

2. Open ChatGPT

View or copy the prompt manually
ChatGPT opens separately and may ask you to sign in. It cannot see your GuestGate account or make account changes from this page. Keep passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, payment details and customer records out of the chat.

Start with these checks

  1. Use the onboarding instructions supplied with your subscription.
  2. Make sure you are testing your business’s QR code, not the sample.
  3. Check the Wi-Fi network and password in your secure setup.
  4. Review each optional communication permission separately.

For account-specific billing, use the controls or management links supplied with your subscription, when available.

Frequently asked questions

15 answers · reviewed 2026-10-17

How does GuestGate work?

A guest scans your business’s QR sign, enters their details, chooses their communication permissions and receives your Wi-Fi password. Every completed sign-in includes a review prompt. Your settings may also direct guests to your menus, offers, booking links or events.

Do I need a new router or special hardware?

No. GuestGate works with your existing Wi-Fi network and password. It does not replace your router, provide internet service or increase your connection speed.

What signs do I receive?

GuestGate provides a finished branded sign and a basic QR version you can add to your existing signs, menus or displays. The sign can use your business name or logo. Follow your onboarding instructions for your business’s actual QR code.

Where do I start after subscribing?

Follow the onboarding link and instructions supplied with your subscription. Keep your business name, public business links and logo ready. Enter private Wi-Fi or account details only into the appropriate secure GuestGate setup fields, never into ChatGPT.

My QR code is not opening the right page. What should I check?

Use your business’s finished QR code rather than the sample shown on the GuestGate homepage. Scan it with another phone camera, check that the whole code is visible and readable, and confirm that the destination belongs to your business. Ask ChatGPT for step-by-step guidance using only a redacted description of what happens.

A guest can see the password but cannot connect. What should I check?

Confirm that the guest selects the correct Wi-Fi network and that the password entered in your secure setup matches the current router password. Check the connection on another device. GuestGate reveals the configured password; it does not control your router or repair an internet outage. Do not paste the password into ChatGPT.

Are all guests asked for a review?

Every completed sign-in displays a review prompt. GuestGate does not guarantee that a guest will submit a review or that any review will be positive.

Who owns the customer list?

Your customer data remains your property. GuestGate stores and processes records to provide the service. GuestGate does not sell your customer data or share it with third parties for their own marketing. Use optional services only with business authorization and the customer’s applicable permissions.

Do I need a CRM? Can I use CSV or Google Sheets?

You do not need a CRM to use GuestGate. CSV and Google Sheets options are available. Supported CRM and connection options can be added according to your business needs. Availability of a named CRM must be confirmed in your current account; a connection is not complete until it has been tested.

Must guests accept marketing to receive Wi-Fi access?

No. Marketing and SMS permissions are separate choices and are not required merely to receive Wi-Fi access. Optional permissions should be unchecked by default. A phone number is optional.

Does GuestGate automatically start sending campaigns?

Do not assume that collecting a guest record starts a marketing campaign. Each enabled service must be configured, authorized and used according to the customer’s communication permissions. A connected channel or prepared draft is not proof that a campaign is sending.

How do I manage billing or cancel?

Use the billing-management controls or subscription-management link provided with your account or subscription receipt, when available. ChatGPT can explain the steps you see, but it cannot change your subscription, confirm an account-specific charge or process a cancellation from this help page. Never share card numbers, private payment links or account credentials with ChatGPT.

Where can I confirm the current membership price?

Check the current GuestGate homepage and secure checkout before subscribing. Your checkout or existing subscription determines the terms that apply to you. This help page does not change your price or promise a future discount.

How do I make a privacy request or change cookie choices?

Use the dedicated Privacy Request, Your Privacy Choices or Cookie Settings links below. Those remain separate from general setup help. Do not put customer records, identity documents or privacy-request details into ChatGPT.

What can ChatGPT help me with?

ChatGPT can explain these answers, suggest setup checks and walk through a problem one step at a time. Copy the help prompt below and paste it into ChatGPT. It cannot see your GuestGate account, connect a CRM, change billing or verify private account data unless you separately provide an authorized tool for that action. AI answers can be mistaken; compare them with the current GuestGate pages and your account instructions.
